Right now the main "Rental Search" link in the navigation goes to this page, and the sub-level link under Rental Search that says "Rental Search Portal" links to the actual login page for the portal (on that guys site).
The issue is that I don't know enough about the portal, it features/benefits, and what makes it different/better than most portals to write up the text for this page. Also, I don't think I can really use the pictures you sent me of the portal pages because they have some private info on them, and I don't think they capture what makes this portal so great (but I am not sure about that). SO we need to work on what to put on this main page.
SHORT TERM FIX TO GO LIVE Eventually I want to have this page have text/photos describing the great features/value of this specific portal because if we just link the main navigation link directly to his portal login page (out side of our website), we loose the opportunity to describe this great tool SVCRelo provides to users we are trying to turn into customers because they can't get into the portal…so they would only link to a login page. HOWEVER, this will take some time to create…so my plan is to go live with just ONE link in the navigation (the main link that says "Rental Search") that goes directly to the login in page (which is better that what we have on the live site, and also keep in mind we have a description of the portal on the homepage Tools section on the 2.0 site).
Then, as soon as we can get this page text and photos figured out, which will be a priority, we'll do…
POST-LIVE PLAN We will make the main nav link "Rental Search" go to this page with our new text/photos about the portal, and add back in the sub-nav link "Search Portal Login" which will go directly to the login in page (like it currently does). Keep in mind that this will allow users (who aren't clients yet) to get more info about the portal than what is just listed on the homepage…and also give clients a direct link to the login page from the navigation (they won't have to click on Rental Search first, just hover over it to click on the sub-nav).
